Building Immunity For The COVID-19 Virus

There is a lot of buzz about the COVID-19 Virus or most commonly known as the Corona Virus. Building your immunity can help protect you and your loved ones form contracting the virus. Aside from immunity building, here are also some quick and easy tips on avoiding the spread of COVID-19.

Having a strong immune system is important all year long. When outbreaks of viruses happen, it is even more important.

  • Be sure to get good sleep. 8 hours per night is ideal for adults. 10-12 hours per night is ideal for children. Rest is crucial for a healthy body.

  • Eat healthy, whole foods. Limit your sugar intake.

  • Take a daily does of vitamin D, zinc, a good probiotic, and elderberry. Buy your supplements at a reputable place such as a Co-op or natural food store.

The following tips are quick and easy things that you and your family can do to help protect yourself from COVID-19.

  • Limit the amount of time spent in public places and avoid people who are sick, including those who are coughing or presenting symptoms.

  • If you have a fever or other symptoms, stay home. If your children have a fever, do not send them to school. Consider working from home if your workplace allows it.

The best way to prevent infection is to avoid exposure to the virus. However, as a reminder, the CDC always recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses, including:

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Avoid close contact with sick people.

  • Stay home when you are sick.

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

These are healthy everyday habits that can help prevent the spread of not only Coronavirus Covid-19 / 2019-nCoV, but many common viruses.
